BEST FOODS FOR HYPOTHYROIDS.

Hypothyroidism - One of the most common metabolic disorder affecting people all over the world. Usually people with hypothyroidism are well aware of their symptoms, and come across many suggestions what not to eat....which foods are dangerous for their thyroid gland and so on..

Just thought will take you through a small walk along the best foods for hypothyroids, so that you may not be sad thinking that you have to avoid this, not to eat that, blah blah.. rather you really feel happy and energised by knowing what all foods help to improve your thyroid hormone secretion, the super foods that energizes you and the tasty food that helps you in losing the extra accumulated lazily dozing fat in your body which is a major as well as a frustating symptom of hypothyroids..Right..

So, Ready for the walk down the lane:-)

Salmon fish, Tuna and few other fishes which have ample amount of Omega-3-fattyacids, are perfect for hypothyroids as omega-3-fattyacids play a major role in reducing inflammation of any organ, be it in your heart, pancreas or even thyroid gland. In this way foods like fish rich in omega-3-fattyacids are the strong opposite team which fights with team of inflammation in your body and these fatty acids always wins the trophy ;-) if they are taken in the exact required amount(at least thrice a week). Got my point!!

Yogurt(curd): A simple, soft, Vitamin-D and calcium rich yogurt available easily and can be included in daily diet can do wonders in chronic hypothyroid patients, who are also prone to vitamin D deficiency on long run, and yogurt acts perfectly to help you in overcoming all sorts of bone  problems which occur due to lack of enough vitamin D in your body. General human tendency is to easily ignore the perfect things available at home and run out for extraordinary things outside your home. Instead of doing so, try and utilise all that is available in your home itself instead of running after unnecessary and unknown hype:-)

Meat: Mostly chicken gets the majority of votes instead of mutton and the chicken is rich in the aminoacid tyrosine, which acts as bricks of thyroid hormone, I mean tyrosine is needed for production of your thyroid hormone. That's cool..right..Even chicken has a good amount of Dopamine in it, and here how does this dopamine help the thyroid?? let me explain..Though not directly the Dopamine helps in improving your cravings towards all sorts of foods and thus helps in managing your weight. B12 which maintains the red blood cells and also prevents your nerves from degeneration is also obtained from chicken which is also reduced in hypothyroids. So..All the non-vegetarians, go and indulge happily in some lip-smacking delicious chicken recipes:-)

Before the vegetarians feel deprived, the tyrosine which is a building block of your thyroid hormone is well available in the pure, fresh, green leafy vegetables..Happy!!

Beans: The common problem hypothyroids experience is a feeling of fatigue, lack of sufficient energy..Right..Including any kind of beans helps in providing sufficient energy through out the day and keep you active and cheers you up..The proteins, complex carbohydrates  and plenty of antioxidants in the beans are useful in giving a heap of benefits and why miss them, by neglecting to include beans in your diet.

Whole grain foods with good amount of fibre in them, are another group of foods, hypothyroids should try to become friendly with.  whole grain breads, rice, cereal, pasta are a few of your friends you should meet up daily to make your chances of getting fat lesser by keeping you full for certain longer periods, improve your bowel movements which become sluggish due to the under active  thyroid  which tends to affect the whole body metabolism.

Apple is a super food along with oranges, grapefruits, peaches which helps in removing the dreadful toxins out from your body, with the help of a fantastic fibre called pectin which captures the toxins and carries them out. Why Apple is a super food is, as the oranges, grapefruits have the pectin mostly in their peels which we tend to remove them, in Apple we usually eat them as a whole, and the pectin effect works better with apples:-)

We all know that Iodine is very important for the production of thyroid hormones, and Iodine is available from the iodised salt we use daily, and also in certain foods like potatoes, eggs, cow's milk.

All the cute little colourful fancy berries like blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes which are rich in antioxidants help in fighting with the inflammation of the thyroid gland especially those with autoimmune Hashimoto's thyroiditis benefit from these berries..

Garlic and onion when added as a part of your diet may help in increasing the sugar and fat metabolism and also strengthens your immunity by fighting with inflammatory reactions.

If you feel that all normal diet and no fancy and romantic foods, stop there and start having dark chocolate which also improves your metabolism and also destresses you.

Coconut oil: Using coconut oil may help you when you are in a deranged metabolism stage like in hypothyroidism. The medium chain fatty acids like capric acid, lauric acid and caprylic acid helps in improving  metabolism, give you extra energy boost, acts as a shield and protects you from infections and also improves the function of brain so that you act smart;-)

I can see all of you smiling and happy already just by reading the foods you can enjoy to fight with your hypothyroidism along with your medications prescribed by your doctor.

Eat wisely and be healthy..

Good day friends:-)
