WHOLE MILK OR SKIMMED MILK????

Good morning, Friends..

Let's continue about the health benefits of milk..

Diabetic patients can happily have their glass of milk as milk is known to have a low glycemic index and thus does not spike your sugar levels. Recent research studies happen to prove that milk has a role in reducing insulin sensitivity.

Can you guys even guess that milk helps in weight loss?? Never!! Right..

But, YES!! The high fat and protein in a glass of milk keeps you full for a longer period, compared to other foods and in this way prevents you getting attracted from the dangerous Junk foods;-) that's the reason, they say milk is pure:-)  Perfect..right..

Milk is equally friendly to kids, women and men..

Kids, as we all know, that milk is good for their development of bones and teeth, it also provides good immunity to them, thus preventing them from all unnecessary frequent infections.

Women are also benefited by the strong bone effect of milk, and including that, guess what all women are fond off?? Glowing skin!!Right..

Yep..Milk is known to increase the glow of your skin making you more attractive. Oh! That's the reason that, there are stories in history or even now, where certain people pamper their skin with milk. Not only external glow, but milk also helps women in relieving them from premenstrual symptoms, by the serotonin secretion which is enhanced by the Vitamin D in milk thus relaxing and soothing the muscles and improves energy levels.

Men can too benefit by the good amount of protein in milk and thus display a sexy muscular look;-) in fact milk is a good supplement to drink after a strenuous workout rather than the sugar filled artificial protein supplements.

But there is a bad mark caused by milk in few people, due to its high cholesterol levels it may attack your sebaceous glands to secrete more oil and this extra poor oil has no place to go if you don't take good care of your skin and will start accumulating in the form of awkward pimples on your face:-(

Now the million dollar question, Whole milk or skimmed milk?? Whole milk is with all the fat intact and skimmed milk is scrapping of all the fat from milk but keeping all other nutrients intact.

Advanced and latest researches have shown that whole milk is better than skimmed milk as the skimmed milk make you feel lighter and may not keep you full and you tend to land up drinking more milk.

When the fat is removed from skimmed milk the fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A, D, E, K are lost whatsoever amount they are found in milk, which results in reducing the quality of skimmed milk(though milk is being fortified with vitamins and minerals, natural is better). Importance of these fat soluble vitamins, is that, they will keep you guys protected from infections by increasing immunity, increases the absorption of Calcium, and Vitamin E, acts as natural antioxidant and prevents the ferocious free radicals from attacking your cells and thus play a major role in protecting you from cancer.

Whole milk helps in increasing your HDL cholesterol too which is a good cholesterol along with LDL cholesterol and thus neutralises both unless you overload your daily intake of milk.

According to certain research studies the nutrients present in whole milk helps in reducing the risk of colorectal cancer and also improves fertility in women.

Being  a clinical biochemist, and have been learnt the synthesis of cholesterol, I clearly can tell you guys that if you indulge in a complete "NO CHOLESTEROL" diet, the negative feedback mechanism may become activated and may stimulate synthesis of cholesterol. Instead if we take the optimal, required amount of cholesterol through our daily diet, cholesterol will be catabolised(destructed) more instead of synthesis;-) Point to be noted..Right!!

Worried, how many glasses you need to take daily..My advice can be to take a cup of whole milk daily and can increase upto 3 cups according to your lifestyle, adjusting with other dairy foods you eat..I mean if you are habituated to eat curd, cheese and all other dairy stuff, 1medium cup of milk daily will do wonders:-)

Let's discuss about BUFFALO MILK OR COW'S MILK in my next post.

Bye, Friends ..

Good day.
